According to the “2020 R&D 250 Report” prepared by Turkishtime, BTM- Bitumlu Tecrit Maddeleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş R&D Center has managed to rank among the top 100 companies in Turkey with 27 projects it carries out. BTM, which is among the second 250 companies in the ranking made according to R&D expenditures, continued to maintain its leadership in the insulation sector.
C. Levent Ürkmez, Chairman of the Board of BTM, mentioned that R&D studies are essential for increasing the welfare of the country and society, and for that country to have a higher technology and economy compared to other countries, and said, “As BTM, we take care to design an innovative, sustainable, technological and carbon zero products. Despite the pandemic and the bad course in the world economy in 2020, we did not compromise on our R&D investments. We continued to increase our scientific and technical knowledge, to use this information in applications and to find suitable solutions for the building sector.
Ürkmez stated that 2/3 of the world's R&D expenditures are made by the private sector, and that in order for Turkey to reach 3% of R&D intensity, the private sector should increase its R&D expenditures significantly. He stated that they have increased their spending target to 3.8 million TL, and that they are determined to develop and progress in order to become a competitive Turkish brand in the world insulation sector market with its expert R&D Center staff of 22 and effective R&D investments.
