SURFACE PREPARATION

It is recommended to use formwork removal lubricants with Bituproof tanking system.

The surface of the rubble concrete poured in sufficient thickness and strength must be surfaced. There should be no loose aggregate and sharp protrusions on the surface. The floor should be cleaned by sweeping before application.

APPLICATION

Firstly, the surface of wall on which the membrane will be affixed must be prepared (as formed with shotcrete or cement-bonded particleboard or wood panels)*. The length of membrane used in application must not be more than 5 m. Each membrane of 5 m should be affixed every 30 cm with mechanical fixing components suitable for the substrate and with a washer of diameter 5 cm on top. Silicon film on the bottom surface of BTM BituProof D should be removed and the membrane overlaps should be torched on

 *Alternatively, if available in project, HDPE drainage membrane with one side coated with felt is mounted through mechanical fixing on the surface ready for affixing the membrane. BTM BituProof D membrane is affixed on drainage plate.

Bituproof D is launched into the market in rolls 1 m wide and 10 m long.

STORAGE CONDITION AND SHELFLIFE

The membrane rolls should be stored vertically under a roof, protected from direct sunlight. If the rolls have to be stored outdoors for a long period of time, they must be covered with a protective layer in order to protect them from the sunlight. The membrane rolls or pallets should not be stacked on each other.

Shelf-life is one year  from the production date in case it is stored in its sealed and undamaged package in dry ambient conditions at a temperature from +5°C to +25°C away from direct sunlight.
